Something I came across while surfing the web for some ukulele playing techniques. This video started off with a sort of "cliche-d" date lyrics - very simple, to the point and lovely, me thinks. But when they got to the "Steve" part it was hilarious! I think this might be what some of us can associate with on some of our almost romantic dates. Enjoy the song

Last Year in Kobe
Last year when Natalie and Yoshiro came to visit, we went to see the Kobe Luminaire. We heard it might be the last time the city is holding the commemorative light-up event for the '95 earthquake.
At the event venue, we spotted a crowd near a big TV screen. We were curious and went up to see what was the commotion about. And we saw this!
My dear Mrs. Moriyama sent me this in the mail last night out of the blue. I think she must be digging into her photos while her boss is a way from office. This is hilarious! Can't wait till they come over and visit again.
Don't keep me waiting eh, Mr and Mrs Moriyama....

End of Summer
I was in Singapore for 5 days last week and compared to the last time I was back in June, the weather was much cooler. The day after I touched down, it rained heavily. I missed such rainy days in Singapore. The sound of the rain reminded me of my childhood days living in the Kampong.
Back in Osaka, the weather has become milder too. Temperature at night went as low as 19 degrees. Rather unusual but it signifies that summer has definitely come to an end.
With the change of season, much of me has changed too. Just last month, I was still struggling with a lot of internal conflict. Yet now, I can say I have shed much of those caliginous thoughts and virtually taught myself to change my outlook in life, remind myself the reason for my being here and embloden myself to strive for what I came for.
Start counting down to my goals now.

Cleaning up
Some times idling is good. Gives you the space to unwind. Sit back, stare into the blank space, mind empty.
Yet some times excessive idling has its downside. A sense of detachment surmounts and hallucinations fill your mind. You end up thinking of nonsense, things that didn't matter and you even lose your self-confidence as a result.
In times like these, I think a little bit of manual work helps relieve all that symptops: Cleaning up. Do the dishes, clean the windows, tidy up what expired food you left in the fridge for weeks, fix that broken dresser and line up all your jewellery neatly.
The spillover effects of cleaning up is big. Besides taking away that idling mind, you've just created a neat sanctuary to nest your soul. The cleaniness will probably impress someone too. Fengshui-wise it's often said that a clean environment brings good fortune and health. Yet, perhaps the "bestest" of all in cleaning up is to counter that idleness again,i.e, to mess up the place at your pleasure anytime when you start to idle again.
Little things like that do help. Take it from the guru. :P

Yours Sincerely,
Guru of Idling
